Yard Deodorizing & Sanitizing in Northern Kentucky

We don't mask odor. We kill the bacteria causing it.

Fresh Paws treats your yard with Wysiwash, an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant used by veterinary clinics, kennels, and dog daycares. On hard surfaces (kennel runs, decks, patios, artificial turf) it kills E. coli, parvovirus, and salmonella on contact. Across grass and lawn areas it's safe to apply and helps neutralize the bacteria that cause yard odor.

Especially valuable for multi-dog households and high-traffic yards.

Three steps to a fresh yard

We pair sanitizing with a thorough cleanup, not as a substitute for it.

1. We scoop

Full yard sweep first. You can't sanitize over a backed-up yard. We clean it down to the grass.

2. We sanitize

Hard surfaces — kennel runs, patios, decks, artificial turf — get full disinfection. Grass and lawn areas get a safe application for odor control.

3. Yard is fresh

15 to 20 minutes to dry. Then your yard is pet-safe, kid-safe, grass-safe, and odor-free at the source.

What is Wysiwash?

A short answer to the question every customer asks first.

Wysiwash is an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant built around hypochlorous acid, the same active compound your immune system produces to fight infection. Veterinary clinics, animal shelters, dog daycares, kennels, and turf operations use Wysiwash because it kills bacteria, viruses, and parasites on contact, then breaks down without leaving a residue.

It's stronger chemistry than the enzyme sprays most pet waste companies use. Enzymes break down waste residue slowly. Wysiwash kills the bacteria that cause yard odor and disease at the source.

What it kills on hard surfaces

On hard, non-porous surfaces (concrete, decks, kennel runs, coated metals, artificial turf), Wysiwash is rated to kill 99.9% of harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites. The ones that matter for dog yards:

Parvovirus

Highly contagious and dangerous to puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

E. coli

Common in dog waste, can transfer to kids, pets, and gardens.

Salmonella

Survives in soil. Risk to children playing in the yard.

Giardia & Coccidia

Common parasites that cause GI illness in dogs.

Canine flu

Especially relevant in multi-dog households and daycares.

Odor-causing bacteria

The bacteria that make yards smell. Kill them, the smell goes too.

Where we apply it — and what it does

Wysiwash is EPA-registered for disinfection on hard, non-porous surfaces. We apply it across the whole yard, but the work it does varies by surface.

Hard surfaces — full disinfection

Concrete, patios, decks, artificial turf, kennel runs, coated metals. EPA-rated kill of bacteria, viruses, and parasites on contact.

Grass & lawn — safe application + odor control

Wysiwash is safe to apply on grass, plants, and turf. We treat these areas to neutralize the bacteria causing yard odor. Pathogen-kill claims are reserved for hard surfaces per EPA registration.

Is it safe for dogs, kids, and grass?

Yes, once dry. Wysiwash takes about 15 to 20 minutes to dry, depending on temperature and humidity. Once dry, your yard is safe for pets, kids, and your grass. We text you when application is complete and give you a clear all-clear time.

It's the same disinfectant used in veterinary clinics, animal shelters, dog daycares, and kennels. If your vet's office uses it, your yard can too.

When deodorizing makes the biggest difference

  • Multi-dog or high-traffic yards — bacteria load and odor scale fast with more dogs.
  • Spring thaw — when winter buildup releases all at once and the smell hits.
  • Mid-summer odor surge — heat speeds up decomposition.
  • After a parvo or kennel cough scare in your area.
  • Hosting a backyard event — BBQ, party, kids' birthday in the yard.
  • Returning from vacation with a backed-up yard.
  • New puppy — give the yard a full reset before they explore.

How often do we recommend it?

For most yards we recommend twice a month, paired with your weekly or bi-weekly cleanup. That cadence keeps odor down without overdoing it. Single-dog low-traffic yards can get by with monthly; large multi-dog yards and commercial dog runs may want weekly. Pricing depends on yard size and frequency — get your real number in the quote.

Yard deodorizing questions

Is Wysiwash safe for my dog?

Yes, once dry (15 to 20 minutes after application). It's the same disinfectant used in veterinary clinics, kennels, and dog daycares. We text when the application is complete and give you a clear all-clear time before letting pets back out.

Will Wysiwash kill my grass?

No. Wysiwash is grass-safe at our application dilution and is regularly used at dog daycare grass yards and turf operations. We apply it across the whole yard for odor control. EPA disinfection claims apply to hard, non-porous surfaces (decks, patios, kennel runs, artificial turf), not grass — so we're transparent about what does what.

Can I get deodorizing without a cleanup plan?

We strongly recommend pairing it with cleanup, since sanitizing over a backed-up yard doesn't really work. If you want a one-time deep cleanup plus Wysiwash for a backyard event, that's a great combo. Get a quote and we'll set it up.

How is this different from enzyme sprays?

Most pet waste companies use enzyme sprays, which break down waste residue slowly. Wysiwash uses hypochlorous acid, which kills bacteria and viruses on contact. Different chemistry, much stronger pathogen story, especially for parvo and other dog diseases.

Do you bring your own water?

We use your outdoor spigot for the application. No special hookups, no extra equipment on your end — just a working hose bib we can connect to. Let us know at signup if your spigot is in an unusual spot.

Do you apply Wysiwash year-round?

No — we pause Wysiwash applications during hard-freeze months in NKY (typically December through February) because the spray can't penetrate frozen ground or work properly in below-freezing temps. Service resumes in early March. Your regular scoop service runs year-round, just without the deodorizing add-on during winter.

Stop masking yard odor. Kill the bacteria causing it.
